Learn More About Corey Walker

Corey is the Community Development Lead for Common Ground Queensland and has a focus on Cultural inclusiveness and safety at CGQ.
Corey commenced in November 2024 as the Community Development Lead for Common Ground Queensland.
 
Corey is a First Nation person from the Wakka Wakka and Gubbi Gubbi nations. Corey has more than 30 years’ experience working for First Nation communities with NGO’s and Government. Roles range from Youth at Risk, Education, Community Development, Homeless Services, Training and developmental programs.
 
Within his role at Common Ground Queensland, Corey has a focus on Cultural inclusiveness and safety across the organisation, and brings a trauma informed and social justice framework to his role.

Common Ground Queensland

We provide rental accommodation to people who have experienced chronic homelessness (supportive housing) and to people who require access to affordable housing located in South Brisbane.  Tenants must meet eligibility requirements set out by the Department of Housing.
