Common Ground Queensland (CGQ) is proud to announce our new Supportive Housing site specifically for families.
Based in South Brisbane, the new building is home to 18 families with young children. Based on our successful model at Brisbane Common Ground and building on our Supportive Housing for Families head leasing model, CGQ provides tenancy and property management including a 24/7 security service in partnership with Micah Projects, who provide 24/7 on-site support.
For us at CGQ, these eighteen new homes are the clearest expression of our values and reflects what is possible when people and organisations unite behind a shared purpose. Behind each door will be a family with a secure home, the right support and the opportunity to build a more stable future.
As we hit the ground running, we are reminded that our tenants are at the core of everything we do. The families and young children that live in this building have experienced chronic homelessness alongside a range of complex challenges and the impact that this safe, stable environment will have on their lives and futures will be life changing.
The strongest measure of our success is not the number of properties we manage, but whether the individuals, families and children living in them feel safe, respected, heard and at home.
Our work is also strengthened by a constructive relationship with the Minister for Housing and Public Works and the Department of Housing and Public Works. Their commitment to expanding Supportive Housing is helping proven ideas become real homes for people who need them.
