Common Ground Queensland Limited (CGQ) is seeking two independent Directors to join its governance-focussed board. Expertise is sought in the areas of marketing and communications and also in the area of fundraising.

About CGQ

CGQ is a not-for-profit company limited by guarantee and a registered charity. We work to create supportive housing solutions aimed at ending homelessness. 

Our objectives are to provide specialised tenancy management services for supportive housing and affordable housing tenants, and to increase the supply of supportive housing to individuals and families. We operate a 146-apartment facility in South Brisbane in partnership with Micah Projects, and we are exploring opportunities to grow our services. 

CGQ is funded by the Queensland Government, and we generate independent revenue through rental paid by our tenants.

CGQ Board

CGQ Directors have the interests of our tenants and community at heart, as well as a commitment to sustainable service delivery.

The CGQ Board currently comprises six Directors. The Board meets every six weeks in Brisbane.

Independent Director Role

CGQ has two vacancies on the Board, and invites expressions of interest from candidates with the following attributes:

Vacancy 1

  • Experience in developing and implementing marketing, communication and advocacy strategies that motivate audiences to engage with a purpose led organisation;
  • Capacity to develop sound knowledge in corporate governance, with AICD or GIA qualifications desireable or a commitment to acquire same;
  • Established networks;
  • Brisbane based with availability to commit to fulfilling the duties of a company director.

Vacancy 2

  • Experience in developing and implementing fundraising strategies that motivate corporate and individual donors to financially contribute or provide other material supports to a purpose led organisation;
  • Capacity to develop sound knowledge in corporate governance, with AICD or GIA qualifications desireable or a commitment to acquire same;
  • Established networks;
  • Brisbane based with availability to commit to fulfilling the duties of a company director.
